The Department of Labour's Skills Highway Award celebrates employers who successfully boosted employees' workplace literacy and numeracy skills.
Jeremy Corban, Labour Department Deputy Chief Executive for Policy and Research, says: “Cardinal Logistics is a very deserving winner. In 2 years, they improved the foundation skills of their people – and, with that, teamwork, accuracy and company productivity.
“Staff are more confident. They go on to complete industry training in bigger numbers. And they take time off work less frequently. We heard at the awards dinner that workplace literacy training had a big part to play in all of this,” he says.
