Health Literacy New Zealand provides free comprehensive information about health literacy and associated resources for a range of groups working in the health sector and adult literacy in New Zealand. The website also outlines consulting services Workbase can provide to develop your health literacy initiatives.
On 30 November 2010 the Minister for Tertiary Education and Transport Steven Joyce attended a Fletcher Construction graduation ceremony for 29 employees who 'BOOST'ed their skills with literacy training. Find out more about the ceremony and Fletcher's BOOST programme.
On Tuesday, 7 December 2010 at the St John’s Community Service Building on the North Shore in Auckland, Spotless held a graduation ceremony for 16 cleaners for the North Shore Hospital. These cleaners had completed Spotless' Steps workplace literacy training course.
The graduates were made up of 3 males and 13 females, with most having English as a second language. Their ages ranged from 25 to 64. Pictured here are the graduates, Spotless and hospital staff members.
