South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce initiative features in the Timaru Herald
A proactive approach is being taken by the South Canterbury Chamber of Commerce to improve literacy and numeracy in the region's workplaces.
Chamber chief executive Wendy Smith said it had been helping put businesses in touch with organisations that could provide literacy and numeracy training, through the Skills Highway.
The scheme, funded by the Tertiary Education Commission and run by the Industry Training Federation, looked to improve skills in workplaces across New Zealand through the $20 million Workplace Literacy Fund. Read the full story here.
