This year's Skills Highway Award winner, Cardinal Logistics, with its award at the Equal Employment Opportunities Trust (EEO Trust) Awards dinner on Thursday, 25 August 2011.

Managing Director, Tony Gorton, and Human Resources and Organisational Development Manager, Karen Stent, accepted the award from the Hon. Hekia Parata, Minister of Women's and Ethnic Affairs, at the Equal Employment Opportunities Trust (EEO Trust) Awards dinner on Thursday, 25 August.

Jeremy Corban, Labour Department Deputy Chief Executive for Policy and Research, said: "Cardinal Logistics is a very deserving winner. In 2 years, they improved the foundation skills of their people - and, with that, teamwork, accuracy and company productivity.

"Staff are more confident. They go on to complete industry training in bigger numbers. And they take time off work less frequently. We heard at the awards dinner that workplace literacy training had a big part to play in all of this," he said.
