A national membership group providing advocacy for enterprise that works to improve the legal and policy environment to better support business. BusinessNZ strongly supports workplace literacy training for its contribution to lifting business productivity.
Industry Training Federation (ITF)
Representing Industry Training Organisations (ITOs), the ITF works to improve industry skills training and workplace learning.
New Zealand Council of Trade Unions (CTU)
Representing more than 350,000 employees, the CTU is active in workplace literacy to help boost business productivity and opportunities for employees.
Accident Compensation Corporation (ACC)
As a Crown organisation, ACC provides comprehensive, no-fault personal injury cover for all New Zealand residents and visitors to New Zealand. It's here to prevent injury, make sure people can get treatment for injury (if it happens) and help people get back to everyday life as soon as possible.
Department of Labour
Works to improve the performance of the labour market, strengthening the economy and increasing the standard of living. It supports regions and industries and employers to develop a skilled, innovative and productive workforce. Manages research and evaluation and the Skills Highway programme to improve workplace literacy and numeracy.
Immigration New Zealand (a service of the Department of Labour)
Contributes to New Zealand's economy, society and reputation through the well-managed entry and settlement of people.
Ministry of Education
The lead advisor on New Zealand’s education system, it conducts surveys and research into a range of different aspects relating to literacy and numeracy.
Ministry of Pacific Island Affairs
Works to ensure that initiatives to improve workplace literacy and numeracy are responsive to the needs and aspirations of Pacific peoples.
Ministry of Social Development, Work and Income
Works with government agencies, non-government agencies, advisory and industry groups, communities and iwi to improve employment opportunities for New Zealanders, including literacy training for those in and out of the workforce.
New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA)
NZQA quality assures qualifications and training providers in New Zealand, including their courses and programmes. It also develops standards and qualifications (including the National Certificates and National Diploma in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education). It is currently developing literacy and numeracy unit standards.
Retirement Commission
The Retirement Commission helps New Zealanders to be financially sorted throughout their lives through its work in schools, the tertiary sector, workplace and in the community.
The Commission is best known to New Zealanders through its Sorted website, booklets and seminars. The Commission also hosts the financialliteracy.org.nz website, a financial education resource for all of New Zealand.

Encourages and influences literacy initiatives to accelerate Māori development.
Tertiary Education Commission (TEC)
Responsible for funding tertiary education, including the Workplace Literacy Fund, which is available to employers to improve the workplace literacy, language and numeracy skills of their employees (criteria apply).

Health Literacy New Zealand
Provides free comprehensive information about health literacy and associated resources for a range of groups working in the health sector and adult literacy in New Zealand.
Literacy and Numeracy for Adults
A Tertiary Education Commission website with information and resources to strengthen literacy and numeracy teaching and learning for adults.
New Zealand Literacy Portal
A Tertiary Education Commission website, managed by Workbase. The Portal is a knowledge base of adult literacy information contributed by both New Zealand and international organisations.
New Zealand Network for Financial Literacy
A Retirement Commission website that is the focal point for initiatives to improve New Zealanders’ financial literacy. It includes a database of financial education providers and resources for tertiary institutions.
Sorted
Sorted is New Zealand’s free independent money guide, run by the Retirement Commission. It’s full of calculators and information to help you manage your personal finances throughout life.

The Employers' Chamber of Commerce Central (ECCC)
A member-owned and managed organisation, representing business and employer interests in all matters affecting enterprise operations, from Taranaki and Gisborne to Nelson.
The Employers' and Manufacturers' Association (EMA Northern)
A membership organisation that promotes the success of business by seeking to create the most desirable environment for business. It adds value through representation, knowledge and support, including the provision of skills training and education courses. The organisation represents businesses north of Taupo – covering Bay of Plenty, Waikato, Auckland and Northland.
Equal Employment Opportunities Trust (EEO Trust)
The EEO Trust raises awareness of diversity issues in New Zealand workplaces and provides EEO information and tools to employers. The annual EEO Trust Work & Life Awards include the Skills Highway Award, recognising workplaces which successfully invest in staff literacy, numeracy and communication skills training.
Greater East Tamaki Business Association (GETBA)

Innovating New Zealand
Innovating New Zealand connects businesses to expertise within polytechnics providing consultancy, training, services and research to assist in all areas of innovation, including staff training. The project has been funded by the Tertiary Education Commission through its Supporting and Encouraging Innovation Fund.

A state-owned enterprise that designs diverse, evidence-based resources for learners and educators. They run professional development programmes that combine the latest research with hands-on advice. Learning Media has a focus on literacy, numeracy and the education of Māori and Pasifika.

Has regional organisations which provide employers with advice including advocacy, human resources help, legal representation, health and safety advice, and training support.
Māori Business Facilitation Services (MBFS)
Te Puni Kōkiri service that helps new and existing businesses with advice and guidance. This service is available to any Māori entrepreneur or business. The MBFS does not provide funding but can help with mentoring, coaching, problem solving, networking, identifying funding sources and accessing resources and referrals to other business services.

Membership organisation to help businesses improve their performance and realise their full potential. Offers support, guidance, training, assessments, information and networking.

Network of organisational and individual members that offers adults instruction in basic literacy, GED preparation, maths, and English as a second language.

Workbase - health and safety resources
These resources, created with funding from the Tertiary Education Commission, demonstrate how literacy and numeracy skills development can occur alongside other workplace training. Workbase provides businesses with literacy and numeracy workplace training, consulting services and other resources.
