Adult literacy and numeracy educator qualifications

12 Mar 2020

The TEC has worked with the New Zealand Qualifications Authority (NZQA) and the sector to create qualification pathways for literacy and numeracy educators.

Tutor qualifications should include content and outcomes related to embedding literacy and numeracy in a New Zealand context, the Learning Progressions, and the Assessment Tool.

These skills and knowledge can be found in the 40 credit New Zealand Certificate in Adult Literacy and Numeracy Education (Vocational/Workplace) (Level 5) [Ref: 2754] – NZCALNE (Vocational/Workplace).

In 2020, the NZQA website advises that there are 14 providers of this qualification. Details below have been sourced from each provider's website (please check directly with the provider for current and detailed information).
