Technology and the future of work - have your say
The Government has asked the Productivity Commission to conduct an inquiry into how New Zealand can maximise the opportunities and manage the risks of disruptive technological change and its impact on the future of work and the workforce. An issues paper has been been released that seeks feedback. In particular, the education section (pp.32-42) highlights the digital divide, qualifications/literacy levels mismatches with job requirements, weak employer/education provider links, upskilling of employees, and careers advice.
The issues paper and feedback details are available here. Submission are due by 5 June 2019.
