Skills Highway Champions Awards 2019

Welcome to the Skills Highway Champion Awards 2019!

Here's all the infomation that you need to enter the Awards.

Conditions of Entry
  1. The Skills Highway Champion Awards are open to all those who are involved in activities encompassed by the TEC’s Workplace Literacy and Numeracy Fund.
  2. Nominations should be made online or by using the forms provided. No additional information is required.
  3. Nominations may be used for promotional purposes.
  4. Multiple nominations are acceptable, but each nomination must be made on a separate, fully completed nomination form.
  5. Received nominations will be considered by a Skills Highway Panel. Nominations will close at 5pm, Friday 11 October 2019. NB: Late entries will NOT be accepted.
  6. Skills Highway Champion Award winners (and their employers where appropriate) will be contacted by 31 October 2019.
  7. The Skills Highway Champion Awards presentation event will be held in Auckland on Wednesday, 4 December 2019, 4.00pm to 6.30pm, as part of a Skills Highway Forum. Some travel assistance may be provided for out-of-town winners
Categories and online entry forms

  • Skills Highway Champion Learner (5 awards). Limited to 2 nominations per provider or employer. This award celebrates learners who have made significant progress during the course of a WLN programme or up to a year afterwards.
  • Skills Highway Champion Learner Group (3 awards). Limited to 1 nomination per provider or employer. This award celebrates a group of learners who have developed an innovative change project, or who have provided a significant amount of support for each other, during the course of a WLN programme.
  • Skills Highway Champion Trainer (3 awards). Limited to 1 nomination per provider or employer. This award celebrates trainers who show great results with a learner or group of learners, during the course of a WLN programme.
  • Skills Highway Champion New Trainer (1 award). Limited to 1 nomination per provider or employer. As for the above award, but for trainers who have been in the WLN area for less than one year.
  • Skills Highway Innovation Award (1 award). Limited to 1 nomination per provider or employer. This award celebrates an innovation in WLN programme delivery or an innovative change to workplace practice resulting from a WLN programme.
  • Skills Highway Champion Workplace Support/Mentor (3 awards). Limited to 1 nomination per provider or employer. This award celebrates a supervisor/manager/workplace mentor who has been pivotal to the success of the workplace LN programme.
  • Skills Highway Champion Employer (3 awards). Limited to 1 nomination per provider. This award celebrates an employer who has been pivotal to the success of the workplace LN programme.

Skills Highway Supreme Champion Award (1 award). Chosen from winners of the other categories.
