Wilkinson’s English Language School and Wilkinson’s Workplace Literacy Services

Wilkinson’s English Language School strives to assist learners to meet individual goals, through the provision of targeted learning opportunities to improve English language, literacy and/or numeracy skills, in a friendly and supportive environment.

Wilkinson’s Workplace Literacy Services has over ten years’ experience delivering TEC funded Workplace Literacy Programmes in Christchurch and other South Island businesses. We work with both large and small organisations, in a range of industries, including construction, mining, manufacturing, and food processing.

Our highly experienced tutors help with English, literacy, and numeracy in the workplace. Classes include participating in meetings, understanding health and safety, filling in forms, communicating clearly with colleagues and customers, and following or giving clear instructions. There is an individual learning plan for each learner and times are flexible to suit the learners.

Our Intensive Literacy and Numeracy Programme is 200 hours of ESOL tuition to improve English at work, or help with finding a job. Learners can communicate better with doctors, shops, banks, children’s school, and are safer and cope better in emergencies. Students study for 10.5 hours per week.

We can also teach people who paid for English lessons for residency requirements when they immigrated to New Zealand (English for Migrants).
